BMHA hopes to provide a collection of resources for healthcare professionals regarding diversity in medicine and improvement of medicine through culturally competent care. On this page, you will find an array of websites, articles and organizations whose goal is to bring awareness to diversity. We will continue to update this website with additional resources and welcome any feedback that you may have.
Here is a selection of some great articles written about the importance of diversity within medicine and how certain individuals have overcome barriers to be able to provide to the underserved community. “A Silent Curriculum” is a recent JAMA article written by a Brown medical student who challenges the subtle prejudices that are historically embedded in medical school training and challenges each of us to change the way we learn medicine.
